What is ScreenAce
ScreenAce is a library for capturing text from the screen. ScreenAce allows you to detect, obtain and mark the textual content of applications and documents ("word under the cursor" function) by calling simple API funtions from your code.
ScreenAce is a fast and light-weight solution (no OCR used) that support most up-to-date Windows applications and browsers.
ScreenAce is a mature and reliable technology and serves as the text-capturing library of the VerbAce-Pro award-winning family of dictionaries.
ScreenAce is shipped as an SDK (Software Development Kit), which allows a simple and fast integration into your application.

For a demonstration of ScreenAce library, you can:
1. download the ScreenAce Demo Application. Just unzip the file anywhere in your PC and run the DemoAppl.exe. You can find the DemoAppl.cpp source file in the Developer's Resources section, as an example of using ScreenAce in the code. 2. download and install any of the VerbAce-Pro dictionaries, which use ScreenAce library. You can use the software for a trial period and get an impression of the text capture capabilities. |

- ScreenAce Library can read text from IE (up to version 9), FireFix (up to version 7), Acrobat PDF (up to version X), Chrome and most Windows application

Integrating ScreenAce into your application
Development
ScreenAce SDK package is shipped in the form of C/C++ .h files and libraries. All you need to do is include the .h files in your code and link it with our library.
Deployment
When deploying your application, just copy the files from ScreenAce RT package into your installation directory, and you are done!
We can support any choice of interface or language upon demand.

Downloads
DemoApp.zip: ScreenAce Demo Application. Unzip the file and run DemoApp.exe.
ScreenAceSDK.zip: The SDK (inc. the h files and Demo project). You can load the MSDEV project and review the Demo source files (but not to link since the libraries are not included here).

ScreenAce SDK (software development kit)
The price of one ScreenAce development license is $690. A license entitles you to add ScreenAce to one product (inc. different versions of it) and work with it on one workstation.
ScreenAce RT (runtime) Package
A ScreenAce development license also entitles you to distribute the ScreenAce RT Package freely with your product (one license per product) without additional charge
